Creative Industries Immersion Day

On Monday 3 June we hosted our first Creative Industries Immersion Day, where more than 60 students from Bendigo South East College, Kalianna School Bendigo, and Marist College Bendigo participated in hands-on activities to explore career opportunities and pathways in the creative industries.

The Creative Industries Immersion Day is a unique and vital partnership between the Bendigo Tech School, Goldfields Local Learning and Employment Network, Emporium Creative Hub, Arena Theatre Company, YO Bendigo, and local creative professionals.

Workshops included branding and design with Brent Nolan of Blunt Agency, content creation with YouTuber Cameron Shand, digital art with multimedia artist Ivan Sun, and virtual reality art with the Bendigo Tech School team. There was also an inspiring panel discussion featuring musician Sherri Parry, Indigenous artist Troy Firebrace of Firebrace Designs, and Aimee Chapman, Co-Manager/Programmer of the Emporium Creative Hub.

This initiative was designed to ignite the creative passions of students and to provide them with an opportunity to explore career pathways to the arts by directly connecting them to local professionals, providing invaluable insights and offering a firsthand understanding of the world of the creative industries right here in Bendigo.

Big shoutout to our STEAM Learning Designer Hector for putting together an awesome video recap (linked below) – it was such an amazing day and we are already looking forward to next year's event.
