Bendigo Tech School Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response
Dear Bendigo Tech School community,
In these unprecedented circumstances, our priority is to protect the health of students, teachers, staff and the wider community. The Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Education and Training are working together closely to reduce the risk of coronavirus spreading.
While Victoria’s 10 Tech Schools will continue to operate, they will not be hosting programs on-site for the time being. We are following the expert advice and directions of Victoria’s Chief Health Officer and Australia’s Chief Medical Officer to cancel or postpone school excursions, including visits to Tech Schools, until further notice. Tech Schools will continue to offer online learning opportunities.
During this time we will stay in contact with schools and update them with the latest information about any changes.
I am excited to share with you that our Student Ambassador program will continue to operate via live streaming and online resources. I hope you can join us for the live stream of our next Tech Futures event, Entrepreneurship for the Future of Healthcare.
Stay in touch on our socials channels Facebook and Instagram, where we will continue to update you with the latest news in Tech School STEAM programming and opportunities.
Amongst newsfeeds this week, I was heartened to see the optimistic work of Canadian communities in setting up #caremongering Facebook groups. Posts are divided between two main topics - #iso posts are for people "in search of" help, whereas #offer posts are for people offering help. It would be great to see our community rally behind similar measures to assist the vulnerable and those most in need.
Please stay safe and get in touch if there is a way we can help your school or community group.
