On Thursday 17 August, we were thrilled to welcome over 110 students from Bendigo South East College, Catherine McAuley College, Doxa School Bendigo, Girton Grammar School and Maryborough's Highview College for our second Allied Health 'Come and Try Day'. This unique industry immersion day has been designed to shine a light on the exciting careers available in allied health.
Through a series of hands-on workshops, the students explored a wide range of fields, including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Allied Health Assistance, Podiatry, Radiotherapy, Social Work, and Speech Therapy.
To provide valuable insights for the students, allied health professionals and university students then shared their own journeys through an engaging panel discussion, followed with pathways presentations from La Trobe University and Bendigo TAFE.
We would like to say a huge thanks to our event partners Goldfields LLEN, La Trobe Rural Health School, Bendigo Health, Bendigo TAFE, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, and RWAV - Rural Workforce Agency Victoria. Without their support, this event wouldn't have been possible.
